Swiss citizens are obliged to register with the Swiss representation in their country of residence after deregistering in Switzerland. In Greece, this is the Swiss Embassy in Athens.

Official website: Swiss Embassy in Greece

How to Register Easily

You can simply inform the embassy by email and will then receive the registration forms to fill out. Registration does not have to be done in person at the embassy.

Important: Always provide your AHV number in all communications with the Swiss Embassy. This significantly facilitates the identification and processing of your inquiries.

Why is Registration Important?

Registering with the Swiss Embassy has several important advantages:

  • You will be listed in the Register of the Swiss Abroad (ASR) and can participate in votes and elections
  • The embassy can contact and support you in emergencies (natural disasters, political crises)
  • You will receive information and services from the embassy (passport renewal, civil status certificates, etc.)
  • The Organization of the Swiss Abroad (OSA) can better support you
